Imaginings are short stories of BoardGrove projects. They are written by Brodie Norris. Each story is from the perspective of a different fictional character and captures an imaginary experience of one encountering and inhabiting the architecture.

Summit Crescent

A humble house on a hill, set amongst gum trees for a family. As one circulates up and down, the house reveals and conceals itself and the landscape beyond.

Club Hotel

A goldrush hotel brought back to life as a boutique venue providing a restaurant, bar, café, hotel suites, function spaces and landscaped gardens.

Smeaton Church

Out in a dry agricultural field, home to British Whites, an old windblown church is to be relocated as a venue for small weddings.

Riverfront Shelters

Three shelters and an arbor structure with hanging seats sit within a revitalized riverfront promenade.

Peppers Mineral Spa, Hotel & Conference Centre

Located in Hepburn Springs this project included a conference centre, underground mineral pool, thermal spas, outdoor bathing pavilions and 28 hotel suites.

Footscray Follies

These three follies, inspired by carousels, are designed to bring life and laughter to a gritty urban high-density area within Melbourne’s inner west.
